In the lake of Time, for a second I lived an Eon. I swam in a sea of white light, and drowned in the green depths of its flames. I saw everything. My skin shriveled, burned to a crisp, and grew anew. I saw what always was, and never has been. I remembered everything that never happened, and was blinded by vivid memories of the future. I was bound to another universe.
And for another first time, I felt it. I knew why they are called windows to the soul.
I could almost touch it. It was so real, as real as you and I. But then it passed right through me, my blood boiled as it glided through my heart, tearing my mind asunder, leaving it to my soul to pick up the pieces. A goddamned moment of solemn pain.
And before the pieces were put together, my mouth started on its own.
"Look at me." But you already were.
The second was over.
